Rich
"Lit'l
Buddy" Wood
Drums/Vocals
Rich grew up in The
Bronx. He started playing drums about the age of 11. He was
one of the founding members of SUMUS the band, a rock group
that performed in the tri-state area. SUMUS was the band, for
5 years, which performed for a local touring Production Company
of Godspell and the Off-Off Broadway show “Mad Dog Blues”
in the 70’s. Besides a full time job in telecommunications
and sound reinforcement, you would also find Rich on occasion,
playing drums by backing up the doo woop and acappella groups
for the United Group in Harmony Association shows in Union City,
NJ.
Rich retired from drum playing in the early 80’s after
moving to Long Island and settling down. His love for music
was always there. Rich started showing up at open jam nights
recently and, with support from his friends and his desire to
“get back out there”, it brought him to fill the
void with the group Rockslide. “It’s a fun group,
with very talented musicians. It gives me the opportunity to
kick it up a notch, perform again and do what I love doing…playing
the drums”.
